yaz and yasminTo date, there have been more than 50 deaths directly related to Yaz and Yasmin birth control. The number of product liability and wrongful death lawsuits being filed against Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals has grown increasingly since the FDA ordered the company to spend over 20 million dollars on a corrective advertising campaign.

Yaz and Yasmin products were advertised through magazines, brochures, internet marketing, television and radio commercials, and many other forms of marketing. These advertisements stated that the birth control pills Yaz and Yasmin would not only perform the task of birth control but also help get rid of pimples or facial acne, as well as ease or even get rid of many symptoms of PMS.

These statements were unproven and not approved by the FDA.
